CLINTON, Miss. – The Stillman College women's and men's track and field teams open the 2026 campaign by participating in the Mississippi College Spring Classic 2026 on Saturday.
Women's Results:
The Stillman women's team collected three top-ten finishes, including a ninth-place mark from
Sendia Cobite in the Women's Shot Put with 10.09m and in the Women's Hammer in 27.70m. Cobite placed 10th in the Women's Discus at 32.40m.
Taylor Hopgood finished ninth in the Women's Discus with a throw of 34.28m, 11th in the Women's Shot Put in 9.68m, and 15th in the Women's Hammer in 22.03m.
Kerrigan Clark nabbed a 22nd-place mark in the Long Jump in 4.18m.
On the track,
Makiyah Thurman led the Tigers in the Women's 100 Meters in 12.24 seconds.
Jada Walker placed 19th in 12.85 seconds, and Clark finished 26th in 13.64 seconds.
Walker placed 22nd in the Women's 200 Meters in 26.53 seconds, and Thurman placed 23rd in 26.63 seconds.
Akaisha Cousette handled the long-distance events with a time of 3:41.57 in the Women's 800 Meters, finishing 22nd, and a mark of 7:37.24 in the Women's 1500 Meters for a 31st-place finish.
Men's Results:
The men's side featured several top-ten finishes, including a throw of 15.10m from
Caleb Washington in the Men's Shot Put to finish fourth.
Evan Wyckoff placed 19th on a 10.18m toss.
In the Men's Hammer, Wyckoff reached 26.16m for sixth place finish. Washington came in ninth with a 22.04m throw, and
Demetrius Williams went 20.30m to place 10th.
Wyckoff finished 14th in the Men's Discus with a 35.07m throw, while Washington placed 20th at 26.88m.
Kenneth Richardson finished 18th in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.58m.
The Men's 4x100 Relay featured a sixth-place finish as the team of Con'darius McCorvey,
Carey Owens,
Kentrell Bonner, and
Cameron Washington posted a time of 44.74 seconds.
Over in the Triple Jump, McCorvey placed sixth, going 13.27m. Bonner placed ninth in 12.82m, Owens came in 10th with 12.74m, and Richardson placed 11th with 12.36m.
Cam Washington placed 17th in the Men's 100 Meters in 11.07 seconds, and McCorvey turned in a time of 11.93 to place 27th.
Five Tigers raced in the Men's 200 Meters, with Cam Washington placing 23rd in 22.63 seconds, Owens coming in 24th in 22.78 seconds, McCorvey finishing 40th in 24.63 seconds, Richardson using 25.00 seconds to come in 42nd, and Williams coming in 44th in 25.27 seconds.
Owens placed 19th in the Men's 400 Meters in 51.85 seconds, while
Majesty Folds finished 34th in the Men's 1500 Meters in 5:07.80.
