ATHLETICS HISTORY
Stillman College Athletics rejoined to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in 2016-17 after nearly 40 years competing in the NCAA. After two seasons in NAIA Division II in the Association of Independent Institutions, Stillman joined the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) prior to the 2018-19 season. Stillman men's basketball maintained an NAIA Top 10 ranking most of the 2018-19 season, claiming the program's first NAIA conference regular season title in the SSAC. The Tigers moved to the HBCU Athletic Conference on July 1, 2024.
Prior to its move to the NAIA, Stillman participated in the NCAA's Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) during two different periods from 1978-1999 (Division III) and rejoined the SIAC as an NCAA Division II member from 2002-2016. Stillman Athletics claimed 16 conference titles in the SIAC, including eight baseball titles, two men's basketball titles, two men's tennis and three women's tennis championships.

Stillman's athletics history dates back to the 1920s and competed as a junior college until joining the Southern Colleges Athletic Conference in the 1960s. The Tigers also competed in the NAIA during the 1960s. While Tigers has always been Stillman's mascot, the teams were known as the Golden Tigers, Flying Tigers and Fighting Tigers at various times.
