NEW ORLEANS - Stillman College senior
Carey Owens was named the HBCU Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, March 17.
The award comes following Owens' third-place finish in the triple jump on March 14 at the University of Montevallo Falcon Classic & Multis. OWens jumped 14.10m in his fourth attempt at the high jump, scoring six team points for Stillman.
He also competed in the long jump with a distance of 6.17m, which was 16th overall but second among NAIA institutions.
In addition to the jumps, Owens ran the 200m with a time of 23.07 and the 400m in 52.84. He was also part of Stillman's 4x100 relay that finished sixth in 44.08.
Stillman will return to action March 21 at the Belhaven Invitational in Jackson, Mississippi.
