Stillman opens XC season at Choctaw Trails

CLINTON, Miss. – The Stillman men's cross country team opened the 2025 season on Friday evening, taking part in The Opener hosted by Mississippi College. The Tigers came in 16th as a team behind a combined time of 2:12.05.

Senior Kenneth Richardson II led the Tigers with a mark of 21:14.3, more than four minutes better than his previous college best, which was set at last year's Opener. Fellow senior Kentrell Bonner (25:46.6) was the next Stillman runner across the finish, just ahead of teammate Con'darius McCorvey (25:48.9).

A trio of Stillman freshmen rounded out the scoring for the Tigers, as Jaylin Shepherd (29:38.2) and Breland Armstead tied one another and Demetrius Williams turned in a time of 34:14.5 in his collegiate debut.

The Tigers are back in action next Friday, when they are set to take part in the Falcon Classic in Montevallo, Ala. It will mark the second consecutive evening race to start the year for Stillman, as the starting gun will fire at 7:30 p.m.
