LIVINGSTON, Ala. – It was the debut for the 2025 Women's and Men's Outdoor Track and Field teams, and the Tigers turned in a solid outing during the inaugural University of West Alabama Invitational hosted at the Jerry F. Smith Track & Field Complex.

Christopher Johnson picked up a first-place finish by more than seven meters in the men's discus event. The preseason All-HBCU Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Year registered a throw of 47.66m, clearing the second-place finisher Steven Conrad from Mississippi College, who went for 40.33 meters. Evan Wyckoff threw for 36.62m to finish fourth. 

Kenneth Beck posted a third-place finish in the men's 200m with a time of 21.97 seconds. Cameron Washington finished in 22.84 seconds, and Joshua Ashhurst posted a time of 26.69 seconds. 

Jordyn Pinkston threw 9.67m in the women's shot put for a fourth-place finish and posted a throw of 22.84m in the discus. 

Johnson finished fourth in the shot put at 13.55m, Caleb Washington threw 11.98m, and Wyckoff posted a 10.86-meter effort. 

Kentrel Bonner finished fourth in the triple jump at 12.56m, while Kenneth Richarson II jumped 12.27m. 

In the men's 100m, Carey Owens finished in 11.34 seconds, Ashhurst was close behind at 11.38, Cameron Washington posted a time of 11.58, and Kentrell Bonner crossed the finish line in 12.11 seconds. 

In the women's 100, Kerrigan Clark finished in 13.13 seconds,  and Sarah Gordon ran the race in 13.83 seconds. 

Clark and Gordon also ran the women's 200m, where Clark finished in 27.87 seconds and Gordon posted a time of 28.89 seconds.
