JACKSON, Miss. – The Stillman College track and field teams had solid outing during the Belhaven Invitational with several Tigers finishing in the top ten of their events during the Saturday event at the Belhaven Track and Field Complex.
Christopher Johnson showed his might in the discus once again with a first place finish after a throw of 50.78m. The native of Meridian, Mississippi, has already qualified for NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships, but his distance during the Belhaven Invitational was over the NAIA "B" standard.
Evan Wyckoff threw 36.15m for an eighth place finish in the discus and Caleb Washington hurled his attempt 30.65m.
The trio of Johnson, Washington, and Wyckoff all finished in the top ten in the shot put. Johnson finished second with a throw of 13.85m, Washington reached 11.19m, and Wyckoff crossed 10.92m.
Kentrell Bonner finished sixth in the men's triple jump with a leap of 12.82m. Kenneth Richardson II was seventh at 12.62m. Josiah Ransom came in at 13th with an 11.53-meter effort.
Kenneth Beck Jr. posted a sixth place finish in the men's 200m with a time of 22.18.
