NEW ORLEANS – After a first-place finish in the inaugural UWA Invitational, Christopher Johnson has been named the HBCU Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week. 

Johnson finished first by more than seven meters in the men's discus event. The preseason All-HBCUAC Field Athlete of the Year registered a throw of 47.66m, clearing the second-place finisher Steven Conrad from Mississippi College, who scored 40.33 meters.

The native of Meridian, Mississippi, was a national qualifier last season and earned his spot in the NAIA National Championships with a 50.12m throw to win the discus at the University of Montevallo Falcon Classic on March 15, 2024. 

Stillman College heads to Montevallo, Alabama, for the Falcon Classic Multi hosted by the University of Montevallo on March 14-15.
