Stillman to Compete in SSAC Track & Field Championships, April 21-22

MOBILE, Ala. - Stillman College men's and women's track & field will compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships at Jaguar Field, April 21-22. 

On Friday, Stillman will enter two jumpers in the men's long jump, three in the men's high jump and three throwers in the discus, led by Christopher Johnson's who has the fourth-best mark in the SSAC this year with a 40.23m discus. Kamryn Harris will be the only women's field event on Friday, opening the day in the long jump.

The only other Friday final for the men will be the 4x800m relay, which Stillman won in 2022.

Saturday will be a full day of competition, beginning with the men's and women's distance events in the morning and the men's 4x100m relay on the track. Field events will include the men's triple jump and shot put, where Willie Washington will look to defend his SSAC title at 1 p.m. Washington's 14.45m season-best mark leads the SSAC by 0.7m.

The afternoon on Saturday will see the 100m and 200m finals, while Carey Owens, Kamryn Harris, Noelyne Maiyo and Amos Metto will also compete in individual track events. The championships conclude with the men's 4x400m relay.
