BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Stillman College men's track and field continued to record Top 8 finishes with three at the UAB Spring Invite on Saturday, April 1.
Ka'Mari Webb posted Stillman's best finish of the day, placing fourth in the 110-meter hurdles behind Talladega's Emmanuel Niang (13.95), Troy University's Julian Martin-Rogers (14.30) and Renaldo Savoury (15.48) of Cumberland (Tenn.). Webb's time of 11.79 was his best of the season and .05 shy of a personal record.
Willie Washington was fifth in the shot put with a career-best 14.45m throw to finish ahead of two NCAA Division I throwers and only behind DI talent.
Christopher Johnson (11.59m) was ninth in the event and
Caleb Washington was 12th (11.13m).
Caleb Washington had a PR in the discus with a 30.84m throw.
Carey Owens also placed in the Top 8 with a seventh-place finish in the 400m. He was ninth in the 200m.
Amos Metto shaved more than 30 seconds off his 5K time Friday evening, running a 16:11.95.
Stillman will travel to the University of Mobile Invitational next Saturday, April 8, in Mobile, Alabama.
