CLINTON, Miss. - Stillman College opened its 2023 outdoor track & field season Saturday at the Mississippi College Spring Cleaning Meet.
Eight men and three women represented Stillman at the meet, including five first-year Tigers.

Christopher Johnson and freshman jumper
Kenneth Richardson II led Stillman in the meet with Top 8 finishes. Richardson finished seventh in his first collegiate triple jump, posting a mark of 12.56 meters. Richardson also competed in the long jump. Washington placed seventh in the shot put with a 13.69m distance, 0.18 better than his Southern States Athletic Conference winning time last spring. Johnson finished eighth in the discus throw with a 38.06m throw in his college outdoor track & field debut. Washington also threw the discus at 31.4m.
Sophomore distance runner
Amos Metto ran his fastest season-opening time in the 5000-meter and second-fastest 5K track time at Stillman with a 16:28.67. He was 17th of 31 runners. Emanual Kipruto also ran in the men's 5K.
In addition to Richardson (triple jump) and Johnson (shot put, 100m dash, discus),
Caleb Washington (shot put, discus),
Cameron Washington (100m, 200m) and women's distance runner Noelyne Maiyo (1500m) made their Stillman outdoor track & field debut.
Stillman will next compete at the University of Montevallo Falcon Classic on March 17-18.
