MONTEVALLO, Ala. -
Christopher Johnson led Stillman College Men's Outdoor Track & Field in its first in-state meet of the season March 17-18 at the University of Montevallo Falcon Classic.
Johnson slung the discus 40.23 meters Friday to finish fourth in the event and score the Tigers' only points in the meet. His throw was 2.17 meters farther than his season opener two weeks ago.
Stillman also had two individuals finish 11th in their events, as
Willie Washington made his season debut in the shot put with a 13.26m mark to finish 11th.
Carey Owens also posted an 11th finish, running a 52.31 time in his first 400m dash of the season.
Other highlights included college-best marks by freshmen
Kenneth Richardson II in the long jump (5.89m) and
Caleb Washington in the discus throw (30.63m).
Kentrell Bonner. Ka'Mari Webb and Emmanual Kipruto competed for the first time this season, while
Amos Metto made his first appearance in a 1500m run for the year.

Stillman finished 18th of 19 teams in attendance. The meet included teams from the NAIA and NCAA DI-DIII.
Alabama-Huntsville won the meet with 128 team points, followed closely by Montevallo at 123.5. The meet also including NCAA Division I members Samford and North Alabama.
The Tigers are next scheduled to travel to the Belhaven University Invitational in Jackson, Mississippi on Saturday, March 25.
