MONTEVALLO, Ala. -
Kamryn Harris placed third in the 400-meter dash and was ninth in the 200m to lead Stillman College at the University of Montevallo Outdoor Track & Field Falcon Classic on March 18.
Harris ran a 1:02.35 in the 400, finishing two seconds behind Columbus State's Alesia Johnson. They were the top two attached runners in the event, while unattached runner Katrina Quigley ran a 58.23 to win the race. Harris shaved 0.48 off her season-opening time.
In the 200, Harris was .05 of a second shy of cracking the Top 8, running a 27.18 in her first 200m of the season.
Malisha Whigham made her spring debut, competing in the 100m and 200m.
Stillman finished 19th among 21 teams. The meet included teams from the NAIA and NCAA DI-DIII. Samford University won the meet, edging out Alabama-Huntsville 150-149. Montevallo was third with 113 points.
The Tigers are next scheduled to travel to the Belhaven University Invitational in Jackson, Mississippi on Saturday, March 25.
