TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Five Tigers drove in all runs Saturday night, including three home runs, as Stillman College routed Oakwood University, 13-2, in HBCU Athletic Conference action at the Stillman Softball Complex.
Oakwood took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an Emma Newby RBI single. Lumpkin put Stillman in front with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first, followed by a two-run double by Fjeldstad to take a 4-1 lead.
Fjeldstad's single down the left field line started the Tigers' scoring in the third inning. Stillman worked the bases loaded before Erwin drew a walk to make it 6-1. Stone cleared the bases with a three-run double and scored a Lumpkin double to lead by nine, 10-1.
Erwin led Stillman with three runs scored, while Lumpkin and Fjeldstad both hit 2-for-3.
Oakwood added a run in the top of the fourth on a RBI single by Nichole Timberlake, but Stillman used the long ball to ice the game. Orr hit a pinch-hit, two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth, and Stone had a solo homer, her second in consecutive home games.
