TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Stillman College women's basketball team scored at least 24 points in three different quarters as the Tigers turned in a stellar homecoming performance against the Maxwell Flyers Saturday afternoon in Birthright Alumni Hall.

Chayce Matthews led the way in the opening quarter with six points, hitting two of the Tigers' four three-pointers, two steals, and two assists.
Jaida Minter and
Aliyah Gaddis each scored five points. After trailing early, the offense erupted for 24 points, capped by a layup from Gaddis with 30 seconds left to move the score to 24-14.
It was
Tanyah Lockhart's time to shine in the second quarter when she posted six points, three rebounds, and a steal in just five minutes on the floor. However, Maxwell outscored Stillman 18-15 in the period, and the Tigers saw a 15-point lead dwindle to five points with 25 seconds left. Lockhart scored a layup with eight seconds left to send Stillman to the half with a 39-32 advantage.
Minter posted nine points, two steals, and a rebound to lead the Tigers in the highest-scoring quarter of the day. Stillman outscored the Flyers 27-10 and led by as much as 27 points before settling on a 66-42 lead to head to the fourth.
The final period featured a balanced effort with eight different Tigers scoring.
Jayla Young West, however, posted four points, four assists, and four rebounds, and Stillman won the quarter 24-15. The Tigers amassed a game-high 35-point lead on the way to the 90-57 final tally.
Notes and Numbers:
- Five Tigers posted double figures on the day. Jaida Minter finished as the game's highest scorer with 18 points alongside four assists, two steals, and two rebounds.
- Chayce Matthews added 14 points, five assists, and four steals; Jordan Harris had 13 points and four rebounds; A'Nya Banks added 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block; and Tanyah Lockhart scored 10 points with three rebounds and two steals.
- Jayla Young West turned in six points and led the team with six assists.
- Mya Jones pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
- Stillman dominated in the paint, outscoring the Flyers 54-20 inside.
