TROY, Ala. – While it wasn't the first contest to count in the stats, the Stillman College men's basketball team played meaningful minutes Oct. 28 on the road against in-state NCAA Division I opponent Troy. The Tigers scored 65 points against the back-to-back Sun Belt Conference champions and March Madness team in an exhibition game at Trojan Arena.

"We were grateful to get the game," said head coach John Teasley. "I think we played tough, and I liked the way the team played in every situation, with this being the first time they've played together against an outside opponent.

With 65 points, the Tigers scored the most points by a non-Division I team against Troy since 2022 and the most by an NAIA team against the Trojans since 2017.

Dasean Sellers led all scorers with 19 points and added four rebounds, two steals and an assist.  De'Marreon Baldwin also reached double figures with 13 points, plus four rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Jayden Tatum led the boards with seven rebounds and scored nine points.

"We still have a lot to improve, but I think we did well on both sides of the floor. It was an off night shooting, but I think the team represented well," said Teasley.

Stillman shot 39.3 percent (24-of-61) from the floor, 21.4 percent (3-of-14) from three, and 60.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The regular season starts Tuesday, Nov. 3, with a road trip to Montgomery, Alabama, to take on the Faulkner University Eagles at 7:30 p.m.
