Jamarra Robinson Named Stillman Women's Basketball Head Coach

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Stillman College has hired Jamarra Robinson as its new women's basketball coach, Athletics Director Terrance Whittle has announced.

Robinson becomes the 11th head coach in Stillman College women's basketball history, succeeding Alico Dunk, who departed Stillman in June for Virginia Union.

"We're pleased to welcome Coach Robinson to Tuscaloosa. She has a proven record of winning programs and developing talent. We know she'll help Stillman continue to compete for championships in the HBCUAC," Whittle said.

A native of Fort Pierce, Florida, Robinson comes to Stillman after one season as the assistant coach at NCAA Division I Lafayette College in the Patriot League. While there, she coached the Leopards against a No. 14 Notre Dame team, and helped improve Lafayette's win total.

She began her college coaching career in 2015-16 at Saint Petersburg College as the team's assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. After two years coaching her alma mater Centennial High School, she landed her first college head coaching job at Indian River State College in 2018. She compiled a 101-71 record in six seasons before the women's basketball program was cut in March 2024. IRSC won the Southern Conference championship in 2023 and was conference runner-up three times: 2021, 2022 and 2024. Robinson's teams also advanced to the Region 8 State final four and earned runner-up honors in 2022. She had 21 All-FCSAA selections, the team's highest ranking in school history (15th) and seven players were signed to NCAA Division I rosters. In the program's final season in 2023-24, Robinson coached the Pioneers to a program-best 26 wins, including an undefeated 10-0 record at home.

"I'd like to thank Dr. (Yolanda) Page and Coach Whittle, for the opportunity to serve as the next head coach at Stillman. I'm excited and honored to lead this program and look forward to working with our student-athletes and supporting the Stillman community," Robinson said.

Stillman College is entering the 2025-26 season following a program-best 26-6 record in 2024-25, including a 17-1 mark to win the regular season crown in its inaugural season in the HBCU Athletic Conference.

As a player, Robinson was a two-time FCSAA First-Team All-Conference honoree for Palm Beach State College before continuing her career at Saint Leo University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She later completed a Master's Degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia Irvine University.
