Lauren Haskins Named NAIA All-America First Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Stillman College's Lauren Haskins has been named a 2025 NAIA Softball First Team All-America selection, the national office announced June 3. She was selected to the team as an infielder.

This is the second NAIA All-America honor for Haskins, who was a Third Team outfielder selection in 2024, and it is the first time a Stillman College softball player has ever received First Team All-America honors across any athletic division. It is also the first time since 2010 that an NAIA Softball First Team All-America selection has come from the HBCU Athletic Conference, formerly the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.

"Receiving this honor is amazing. I'm so grateful to even get the opportunity," Haskins said. "I dedicate this to my team and coaches. They were worth every fight, and knowing those were the girls I finished my career with made it all worth it."

Haskins, a native of Alabaster, Alabama, earned the national honor after being named the HBCU Athletic Conference Player of the Year. She hit .513 with 81 total hits, eight triples, eight home runs and three doubles in 158 plate appearances. She had 46 RBI. She slugged .785 with a .563 on base percentage. Not only did Haskins show her skill with her bat, she impressed coaches across the nation with her speed on the base paths, stealing 52 of 52 attempts and scoring 64 runs. In all, she accounted for 102 of Stillman's 342 total runs scored in 2025. Her 52 stolen bases and 1.000 stolen base percentage are both Stillman single-season records, breaking her 2023 record of 51 stolen bases.

Stillman College by helping the Tigers run the table in the HBCU Athletic Conference with a 15-0 record to win the conference regular season and tournament titles to make the NAIA Opening Round a second-straight year.

"Congratulations to Lauren on being the first All-American First Team in our program's history. It has been my pleasure to have coached Lauren over the last three years. Lauren has been a great team leader and a great athlete for us. She has been a huge part of our success," said Joel Penfield, head coach. "She broke several  records along with being Player of the Week many times and a Player of the Year three consecutive years. She will be truly missed."

During her three-year career as a Stillman Tiger from 2023-2025, Haskins built a Hall of Fame resume that included 145 games played, a .451 career batting average, 219 career hits, 25 doubles, 20 home runs, 17 triples, 26 walks, 29 hit by pitch, 338 total bases, 179 runs scored, 109 RBI and 148 stolen bases out of 152 attempts. She struck out only 22 times in 549 plate appearances.

As a team, Stillman compiled a 106-45 during Haskins' career, including wins over NAIA Top 10 opponents, two third-place finishes in the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament, an HBCUAC regular season and tournament championships, two NAIA Opening Round appearances, and the first-ever NAIA tournament game victory by an HBCU in NAIA softball history.

The last Stillman College student-athlete to receive First Team All-America status was Prince McDaniel for men's basketball in March 2019.

Haskins graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Stillman College on May 10, 2025.
