TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Despite a furious comeback effort from the Oakwood University Lady Ambassadors, the Stillman College women's basketball team stayed strong and picked up their 20th win of the season Thursday night in Birthright Alumni Hall in HBCU Athletic Conference action. The win ties the record for wins in a season.

The Lady Tigers (20-4, 14-1) took control early and held a 20-10 lead after the first quarter after Boykin-Williams nailed a three-pointer to end the quarter to take the 10-point lead.

In the second quarter, Stillman led by as much as 21 points with four minutes remaining when Minter buried a jumper to go up 37-16. However, the Lady Tigers only took a 13-point lead to the half after Madison McDonald hit a layup for Oakwood to move the score to 45-32.

The Lady Ambassadors battled back in the third and dwindled the lead down to four points when McDonald hit a layup with 1:08 to go in the period. However, back-to-back threes from Turner and Kashara Preston pushed the lead back to 10 at 65-55 with 24 seconds left. Saniya Keys connected on a layup as time expired in the quarter to move the score to 65-57 at the break.

Oakwood cut the lead down to one in the fourth quarter with 7:22 left after a jumper from Keys moved the score to 69-68. The Lady Tigers responded with a 9-0 run capped by free throws from Boykin-Williams to go up 10 once more at 78-68 with 4:09 to go. The run helped catapult Stillman to an 83-77 win.
