TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Stillman College volleyball team celebrated Tiger Fan Day in a major way with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-7, 25-16), straight-set victory over the Rust College Bearcats Saturday evening in Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference action in Birthright Alumni Hall.
The win improved the Stillman record to 3-15 overall and 2-6 in the HBCUAC, while Rust fell to 0-21 on the season and 0-7 in conference play.
The Tigers' win moved the squad into a tie for fourth place in the HBCUAC East Standings with Wilberforce, which gave Stillman still a chance to qualify for the HBCUAC Volleyball Championship Tournament.
Paige Eason led the way with 11 kills on a .846 attack percentage.
Kelis Conley passed 10 assists, while
Karen White and
Raven Marks both posted eight assists. White also added four service aces.
Gracie Fjeldstad contributed five digs and three aces, and
Zoey Sales also collected five digs.
Stillman College returns to action Friday, Oct. 31, for an HBCUAC Halloween matchup with Wilberforce University, starting at 6 p.m. in Birthright Hall.
