Stillman Loses First HBCUAC Game to Wiley

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Stillman College women's basketball lost its first HBCU Athletic Conference game of the season Saturday, falling to Wiley University, 46-38, on day two of the HBCUAC Crossover in Birthright Alumni Hall.
 
Raena Suggs led Stillman with 10 points, while freshman Limaya Batimba followed with nine points. Jaida Minter and Hannah Boykin-Williams each scored seven points, while Minter had a team-high nine rebounds and Boykin-Williams had eight rebounds.
The Tigers shot 23% in the game and were out-rebounded 50 to 34.
 
Wiley erased an 0-4 start to take an 8-4 lead in the first four minutes. Stillman never regained the lead. Boykin-Williams' layup with a minute left in the third quarter pulled Stillman within three points, 35-32. Batimba opened the fourth quarter with a jumper to make it a one-point game, 35-34, but the Wildcats outscored the Tigers 11-4 down the stretch.
 
Stillman (12-4, 7-1 HBCUAC) will host Philander Smith University on Monday night at 6 p.m. as the final women's game on day three of the HBCUAC Crossover.
