HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Stillman College women's basketball needed overtime Monday night, but came out on top at Oakwood University, 66-59, to close out its non-conference schedule.
Oakwood led by as many as 11 points in the first half. The Tigers trailed by 10 points, 40-30, late in the third quarter. However, Stillman built its rally in the fourth quarter.
Jamariah Turner and
Raena Suggs combined for 16 points over a five-minute run to give Stillman its first lead of the game and grow it to six points, 53-47, with 3:36 to play. Fouls and free throws kept Oakwood in the game, as Alecia Reasor hit 2-of-2 and Nekaya Williams hit 4-of-4 in the final three minutes to force overtime.
While Stilman was 0-for-3 with two turnovers to close regulation, the Tigers shot 60% from the floor and 6-of-8 at the line in the extra five minutes.

Hannah Boykin-Williams assist to open the overtime period. She finished with 16 points to lead the TIgers.
Stillman built a six-point lead, but the Ambassadors chipped away to make it a one-point game, 60-59, on a Williams 3 with 37 seconds left.
Farrah Pearson (15 points) answered with a layup, followed by a pair of Boykin-Williams free throws to secure the win. Suggs hit two more free throws in the final seconds to finish with nine points.
Thaniyah Marks had a double-double 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Oakwood was led by Williams' 24 points, and Reasor scored 11.
Stillman (13-9) enters its final four games of the regular season all in Southern States Athletic Conference action. The Tigers will host Thomas University on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 5:30 p.m. to begin a three-game home stand.
