Hannah Boykin-Williams's jumper in the final seconds gave Stillman College a 65-64 victory over Dillard University to move the Tigers to 2-0 in the HBCU Athletic Conference Crossover. Stillman now sits alone atop the HBCUAC standings at 5-0 in conference action.
Stillman jumped out to a 6-0 lead to open the game, but Dillard forced three lead changes late in the first quarter before
Lauren Powell tied the game, 18-18, to close the first 10 minutes. The Tigers carried a 32-26 lead into the half, and didn't trail again until the final two minutes of the game.
Dillard erased an eight-point Stillman lead in the fourth quarter to take a 62-60 lead on an Alexis Gie basket in the final two minutes. The battle between East and West Division leaders saw four lead changes in the final 90 seconds.
Jamariah Turner scored 15 points to lead Stillman, while
Farrah Pearson scored 11. Boykin-Williams, Powell and
Jaida Minter each scored eight points.
The Bleu Devils were led by Cassidy Lowe's 17 points and 11 rebounds. Gie finished with 15 points.
Stillman (10-2, 5-0 HBCUAC) will return to action Monday with a trip to SUNO to close out the HBCUAC Crossover.
