NEW ORLEANS - Stillman College opened its first HBCU Athletic Conference women's basketball crossover of the season with a 69-58 win over Tougaloo College on Friday at Dillard University. The win evened the East vs West record at 3-3 on the day across four HBCUAC crossover pod sites.
The Tigers built their first 10-point lead, 21-11, in the first two minutes of the second half and never trailed in the game. The Tigers scored 24 of their points off 21 Tougaloo turnovers and also produced 24 points from the bench.
Tougaloo was held to 37.9% shooting and was led by Ferguson Brayland's 14 points and 13 rebounds. Makaila Brown also posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Trinity Taylor scored 16 to lead all players.
Stillman (9-2, 4-0) will meet Dillard University (6-3, 3-0) tomorrow at 1 p.m. in a battle of East Division and West Division front runners.
