Stillman Wins Big at Home over Southeastern Baptist

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The Stillman College Tigers dominated the Southeastern Baptist Chargers in a commanding 87-35 victory in women's basketball. From the opening tip, Stillman asserted control of the game with their strong defense and fast-paced offense. The Tigers were led by Limaya Batimba, who scored 16 points, and Jaida Minter, who added 14 points. Jamariah Turner and Hannah Boykin-Williams also contributed double figures, with 11 and 12 points, respectively.

Defensively, Stillman put on a clinic, with Renae Suggs recording 5 steals and Batimba adding 6 steals and 7 rebounds. The Tigers' defense was stifling throughout the game, forcing 24 turnovers and limiting the Chargers' scoring opportunities. Lelia Henderson also played an important role on the boards, grabbing 7 rebounds.

Southeastern Baptist struggled to get anything going offensively, as Stillman's defensive pressure disrupted their flow. Despite the efforts from the Chargers, including a few bright moments, they were unable to keep pace with the Tigers. Stillman's depth and defensive prowess were too much for Southeastern Baptist to overcome. The Tigers held the Chargers to 21.3 % shooting from the field, including 16.7% from behind the arc. The Tigers shot 46.8% from the field, including 40.0% from the arc. The Stillman defense allowed the Tigers to take 30 more shots from the field than the Chargers.

The Tigers (6-1, 2-0 HBCUAC) will return to HBCUAC action in Huntsville, Ala., at Oakwood University on Thursday at 5 p.m..
