TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Stillman College bowling opened the 2024-2025 season by hosting its inaugural fall tournament, Ball in Fall, at Shindig Family Entertainment Center.
Spring Hill College collected 5,029 pins to win the men's team competition, followed by the University of Mobile (4886), the University of Alabama (4486) and Stillman College (3896). Spring Hill College also won the women's event with 4,446 pins, also followed by Mobile (4442), Alabama (3561) and Stillman (3134).
Derrian Winters finished in the Top 8 individually for the men with 977 total pins. His 217 in Game 1 was the top score of the day for the Tigers. He averaged 195.4 pins through five games.
Hayes Brown (827), Amarion Jordan (818) and
Marlon Stabler (720) also finished in the Top 20 among 44 bowlers. Lakevin Travis (554) was the Tigers' fifth bowler.
Spring Hill College's Joshua Wilson averaged 228 pins to win the individual competition on Day 1.
Mikayla Goins led Stillman's women's team and finished 12th overall with a 157.6 average and 788 total in five games.
Kylee Whitt was two spots behind with 763 pins (152.6/game). Also finishing in the Top 20 among 31 bowlers was Daveona Hunter-Patton (624) at 18th overall. Amaria Price (548) and Ariel Shelby (411) also competed.
Mobile's Madison Bruner averaged 207 pins to win the first day of the women's competition.
The second and final day of Stillman's inaugural Ball in the Fall event will conclude Sunday. Competition will begin at 9 a.m. at Shindig. Admission is $7.
