TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Stillman College women's basketball moved to 2-0 on the week as it defeated Talladega College, 74-45, in non-conference action to begin a four-game home stand over seven days.
Thaniyah Marks' 18 points and
Alexandra Haymon's 17 points paced the Tigers through the game. Stillman generated nearly half of its offense (36 points) off Talladeag's 31 turnovers.
The Tigers led for all but one possession of the game, growing their lead to double digits early in the second half, 23-12. Stillman shot 57% in the second half and used a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Tornadoes. Haymon scored seven points during the run with a 3-pointer and four-straight free throws.
Eleven total players scored for Stillman, spreading 39 of its points among nine players.
Jamariah Turner and
Danyjhia Williams followed the leading scorers with seven points each.
Stillman (9-7) will return to Southern States Athletic Conference action at home Thursday, Jan. 25 when it hosts Brewton-Parker College at 5:30 p.m.
