TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - A high-energy crowd turned out Wednesday night to support Stillman College volleyball in its return home from a two-match road swing. Despite exciting moments, the Tigers fell in three sets to Talladega College, 25-15, 25-18, 25-13.
Nylah Billingsley served four-straight points in a 5-0 run for the Tigers in the first set for the longest scoring streak of the night by either team.
Raine Patterson led Stillman with five kills, including three in the second set.
Talladega was led by Kiana Polk's 10 kills. Re'na Ashley had eight and there were seven each by Nedu Evans and Josephine Gates.
Stillman (0-4) will continue its non-conference HBCU schedule Tuesday, Sept. 5 with a trip to Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama at 6 p.m. before opening Southern States Athletic Conference play next weekend against Loyola University and William Carey University.
