MARIETTA, Ga. - Stillman College completed its regular season sweep of Life University on Tuesday night with a 69-66 win over the Running Eagles. The win pulls Stillman to 14-10 overall and 6-8 in the Southern States Athletic Conference, tied for sixth in the standings with four games to play.
Laneja Warner gave Stillman the lead, 54-52, on the final shot of the third quarter and the Tigers led the rest of the game. Stillman's largest lead was eight points, 66-58, on a jumper by
Desiree Tyner.
Stillman shot 69% and out-scored Life, 25-20, in the third quarter after trailing by three points at the half, 32-29.
Farrah Pearson led all players with 20 points. Warner finished with 14 points and
Jamesha King scored 10 points.
Kierra York scored 18 to lead Life's scoring efforts. Tierra Tullis added 13 points, and Tanit Calsapeu produced 12 points. Fapou Semebene led both teams in rebounds with 13.
Stillman will host No. 10 Loyola University on Greek Night in Birthright Alumni Hall this Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m. The Tigers will then travel to Talladega College on Saturday, Feb. 11 for a noon tip off. The game is a makeup game originally scheduled for Nov. 19.
