Alexandria Haymon hit a 3-pointer midway through the first quarter to put Stillman in front, 8-7. The Tigers closed the quarter with a 17-12 lead. Stillman's margin grew as high as eight points, 20-12, on an and-one fast break layup by
Kelcie Smith to open the second quarter.
Stillman maintained its lead in the first half until Kinlee Varnell hit a 3 to tie it at 31 with a minute until halftime. A Morgan Holland free throw pushed the Eagles in front, 32-31, at halftime.
Faulkner opened the second half on a 14-1 run and closed the game on a 14-2 run.
Haymon led Stillman with 14 points off th bench, including four 3-pointers.
Farrah Pearson scored 13.
Neely Johns scored 15 points to lead five Faulkner Eagles in double-digit scoring. Holland scored 13 points, followed by a dozen apiece from Nequoia Adams and Angela Grant. Varnell added 10 points.
Stillman (15-12, 7-10 SSAC) will close its regular season Saturday, Feb. 18 when it hosts Talladega College for Senior Day and Homecoming. Tip time is noon. Tickets are $20 and sold in advance only online.
