TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Stillman College entered Christmas break following a 65-53 loss to No. 19 Loyola University on Monday afternoon in Birthright Alumni Hall.
Kashara Preston led the Tigers with 12 points, while
Farrah Pearson and
Jamariah Turner each scored 10 points. Pearson led Stillman on the boards with seven rebounds.
Loyola led by 16 points, 32-16, with 1:22 left in the first half, but the Tigers ended the second quarter on an 8-0 run to trail 32-24 at halftime. The closest the Tigers cut the margin was seven points, 35-28, early in the third quarter.
Sandra Cannady led Loyola with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Taylor Thomas scored 10 points and added seven assists and six rebounds.
Stillman (6-6, 2-4 SSAC) will return to action Jan. 4, 2024 with a Southern States Athletic Conference road trip to Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia. Loyola moved to 11-1 overall, 6-0 in the SSAC.
