Stillman Women's Basketball Falls at Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. - Stillman College women's basketball held the University of Mobile to its third-lowest point total of the season Tuesday night, but the Rams also held the Tigers to their lowest in a 49-40 road loss.
The Tigers opened the game with an 11-5 lead, but the gap closed to 23-20 at the half. After three quarters of action it was tied at 32.
While Stillman held the Rams to 14.3% shooting in the first quarter, the Tigers made only 15% of their baskets in the fourth quarter.
Mobile used a four-minute, 7-0 run to break a 36-36 tie. Farrah Pearson, who led Stillman with 10 points, ended the Tigers' scoring drought with 1:39 to play in the game, 45-38. That was the last made basket though, as the final 85 seconds of action was all at the free throw line for both teams. The Rams made 6-of-8 attempts and Alexandria Haymon made 2-of-3 free throws for Stillman to finish with nine points.
Led by Haymon's seven rebounds, Stillman out-rebounded Mobile, 38-32. Laneja Warner had six rebounds, while the Tigers had five boards apiece from Pearson, Amaria Strong and Jordine Moody.
Mobile's Erica Jones was the game's top scorer with 15 points.
Stillman (12-10, 4-8 SSAC) is now tied for eighth in the SSAC standings with Middle Georgia State University, which comes to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a noon tipoff in Birthright Alumni Hall.
