Tigers Take Down SBC, 104-48

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Stillman College men's basketball closed Monday night's double feature with a 104-48 victory over Southeastern Baptist College. The win in Birthright Alumni hall followed the women's team's 101-34 win over SBC, marking the first time in known history for the two teams to score 100 on the same night.

The last time both teams scored more than 90 points on the same day was a December 2016 sweep of Life University in Birthright.

On Monday, Stillman fell behind 8-2 in the opening four minutes but responded with a 19-1 run to take its first double-digit lead, 21-9, on a Dayvion Dennis 3-pointer. With 3:54 to play in the first half, Derrick Finklea pushed the margin to 20 points, throwing down a dunk to extend Stillman's lead to 41-20. Stillman closed the first half on a 23-3 run to lead 55-23 at halftime.

Tomias Brand pushed the margin past 40 points, 73-32, with a jumper with 11 minutes left in the game. It didn't become a 50-point game until Bailey Talley rebounded a missed 3 by Dennis and slammed it down for a 93-42 lead. Talley led Stillman off the bench with a double-double 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Brand also scored 14 in the game, helping lead six total players in double figures. Marcus Bates Jr followed with 13, Tyler Martin scored 12, Dennis finished with 11 and Brenden Lankford-Johnson had 10. Khalil Johnson led all players with 11 rebounds.

Southeastern Baptist's scoring was somewhat one-dimensional. Jacobi York led all players with 19 points, accounting for 40% of the Chargers' offense.

The Tigers shot 54.4% from the floor, including 52% from long range with 13 3-pointers. SBC was held to 25.8% from the floor and made only 44.4% of its free throws. Stillman shot 71.4% from the line.

Stillman (6-3, 3-1 SSAC) will remain home this week for a non-conference game Thursday, Dec. 8 against Rust College at 7:30 p.m. The Tigers picked up their first win of the season at Rust on Nov. 7.
