TUSCALOSOA, Ala. - Stillman College women's basketball cruised to an 87-57 win over Oakwood University to complete a non-conference, season sweep of the Ambassadors Thursday night in Birthright Alumni Hall.
Oakwood opened the game with a brief lead through the first four minutes, but Moody evened the score with a free throw, 8-8, before
Kelcie Smith scored a layup and free throw to push Stillman in front with 4:52 to play in the first quarter.
The Tigers used a 10-0 run to grow their lead and close the quarter up 25-13. Oakwood stayed within two points of Stillman in the second quarter allowing the Tigers to only grow their lead to 14 points at the half, 39-25.
Stillman pulled away in the third quarter, outs-scoring the Ambassadors, 34-23, in the period, almost equaling the first half score.
With the win, Stillman improves to 7-1 overall. The Tigers will have an extended Thanksgiving break with Saturday's game at Talladega College postponed to Feb. 11. Stillman will return to action Dec. 3 at Brewton-Parker College for a noon EST tipoff.
