TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Stillman College played its third match of the week Friday night, falling to Fisk 25-18, 25-13, 25-13 in HBCU Athletic Conference play at Birthright Alumni Hall.
Keslyn Myers-Pittman led Stillman with five kills on 10 attacks, hitting .300.
Makasia Crawford added four kills and a block,
Ava Cameron had three kills and a block,
Karen White finished with 14 assists, and
Zoey Sales recorded 11 digs.
Stillman led 10-11 in the opening set before Fisk answered with six straight points. The Tigers cut the deficit to 19-17 on kills from Myers-Pittman and a Fisk attack error, but Fisk closed the set 25-18.
Fisk took control early in the second, building an 8-4 lead and extending it to 18-6. Stillman scored four straight points to pull within 22-10, but Fisk finished the set 25-13.
Stillman again battled in the third, cutting an 11-7 deficit to 13-11 after an attack error, a block by
Eva Stewart and
Ava Cameron, and a Stewart ace. Fisk then scored six straight points and closed with four consecutive points for a 25-13 win.
Stillman returns to the road next Friday at Tougaloo College at 6 p.m. The Tigers then travel to Rust College on Sept. 26 for a 6 p.m. match in Holly Springs, Mississippi.
