Tigers Open Season at BP Invitational

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Stillman College volleyball season has begun as the Tigers traveled to the Brewton-Parker Invitational. Stillman faced the hosting Brewton-Parker Lady Barons and the Brenau Tigers in Friday afternoon action in Gillis Gymnasium. 

Against Brewton-Parker, Stillman lost 25-13, 25-14, 25-20. The Tigers finished with 16 kills and a .143 hitting percentage while committing nine attack errors. They also had 19 reception errors.

Ava Cameron led Stillman with four kills. Eva Stewart and Kelis Conley added three each. Keslyn Myers-Pittman had two kills and two service aces, while Shelby Morris recorded three digs and seven receptions.

Brewton-Parker hit .388 and recorded 29 kills. Amme Mobley led all players with 11 kills on 14 attacks and added three aces. Ana Villarreal had eight kills and three aces.

Stillman struggled to generate offense against Brenau, with 16 kills and 16 errors on 68 attacks. The Tigers also committed 13 reception errors.

The Tigers dropped the first set 25-13, the second 25-10 and the third 25-12.

Brianna Moore led Stillman with four kills, while Domineshia Jones had three kills on five attacks without an error. Stewart added three kills and four total blocks.

Brenau hit .471 with 39 kills and committed six attack errors. Solana Brice had nine kills, while Ashlyn Browning added eight and Tatyana Denis had seven.

The Tigers face Wesleyan College and Truett McConnell University tomorrow to conclude the invitational. 

The regular-season schedule continues Sept. 3 at Miles College before Stillman hosts United States Sports University on Sept. 4. The Tigers then face Tuskegee, Talladega, West Alabama, Oakwood and Fisk during a busy September stretch.

Stillman begins October with a road trip to Wilberforce, Ohio, on Oct. 3, followed by matches against Talladega, Baptist University of Florida, Trinity College, Fisk and Wilberforce. The Tigers close the regular season with home matches against Rust College and Tougaloo College before road matches at Oakwood.

The Tigers can qualify to compete in the HBCU Athletic Conference Championship Tournament, starting on Nov. 8 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Stillman returns several key contributors from its 2025 women's volleyball team, led by outside hitter Ava Cameron. Cameron finished the season with 173 kills in 71 sets, averaging 2.44 kills per set, while recording 22 digs and 46 blocks. She accounted for 205.5 points, the highest total among the returning players.

Brianna Moore also returns after recording 73 kills in 74 sets, averaging 0.99 kills per set. She added 22 digs and 29 blocks while scoring 89.5 points.

Kelis Conley returns as a key contributor in the setting and serving game. Across 74 sets, Conley recorded 37 kills, 219 assists, 25 aces and 85 digs. She also contributed nine blocks and 68 points.

Domineshia Jones gives the Tigers another experienced setter. In 42 sets, Jones recorded 136 assists, 38 kills, nine aces and 82 digs. She added one block and finished with 47.5 points.

Zoey Sales was one of Stillman's primary defensive contributors, leading the returning group with 244 digs in 74 sets. She averaged 3.30 digs per set and added 33 assists and 18 aces.

Shelby Morris also played a significant defensive role, recording 134 digs in 74 sets. She added 35 aces, seven assists and 39 points.

Karen White recorded 66 assists in 21 sets, along with six aces and 17 digs. Keslyn Myers-Pittman appeared in 29 sets and contributed 10 kills, nine digs and two block assists.
