Visit Tuscaloosa, Northport Welcome HBCUAC Baseball & Softball Championships

NORTHPORT, Ala. - The HBCU Athletic Conference is bringing its 2026 Baseball and Softball Championships to the newly-built River Run Park on the North Shore of the Warrior River from Saturday, April 25 to Tuesday, April 28. Visit Tuscaloosa and the City of Northport are serving as hosts. 

Games will begin Saturday at noon with Stillman College Baseball as the No. 2 seed from the East Division taking on Philander-Smith University. Softball games get underway at 4 p.m., while the regular season co-champions Stillman College Softball will be the No. 2 seed in its tournament and meet Oakwood at 7:30 p.m. In all there is potential for 31 games en route to crowning two championship teams on Tuesday. 

Games will be broadcast on Urban Edge Network with live stats available on the NAIA Baseball and NAIA Softball scoreboard webpages.  

"The opportunity to bring 16 teams to our baseball and softball championships in Northport for the next three years is a win for our student-athletes, fans, and the entire conference," said Dr. Kiki Baker Barnes, HBCUAC Commissioner. "River Run Park will provide a premier stage for competition, and Visit Tuscaloosa's commitment to creating an exceptional experience will make these championships memorable for years to come."
