Stillman Baseball Lands Three on HBCUAC All-Conference Teams

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The HBCU Athletic Conference announced its postseason baseball awards Friday night, with Stillman College earning multiple all-conference selections following a solid 2026 campaign. 

Highlighting the honors, third baseman Robert Gage was named to the All-HBCUAC First Team after delivering an outstanding all-around season. Gage ranked among the conference leaders in several offensive categories, finishing second in stolen bases (37), sixth in runs scored (43), seventh in hits (28), and eighth in RBIs (34). He also tied for first in sacrifice hits (7), while placing third in batting average (.440) and fourth in on-base percentage (.553).

In conference play, Gage continued his consistent production, ranking fifth in stolen bases (17), fourth in sacrifice hits (3), eighth in batting average (.426), and sixth in on-base percentage (.551). Defensively, he added a .852 fielding percentage, recording 66 assists, 26 putouts, and helping turn three double plays at third base.

Stillman placed two players on the All-HBCUAC Second Team, beginning with outfielder Jonathan Phillips, who earned recognition after a strong freshman season that included HBCUAC Freshman of the Week honors. Phillips ranked third in the conference in triples (3), sixth in doubles (10), and eighth in batting average (.390). He also contributed defensively with 38 putouts and two assists, finishing with a .870 fielding percentage.

Outfielder Gavin Rehorn also secured Second Team honors after a productive season at the plate and in the field. Rehorn ranked ninth in batting average (.366) and third in triples (3) across the conference. In HBCUAC games, he led the league in triples (3) while ranking eighth in doubles (5), 10th in sacrifice flies (2), 11th in batting average (.408), and 13th in slugging percentage (.633). Defensively, he posted a .974 fielding percentage with 73 putouts, three assists, and a double play.
