Tigers rally to force overtime, fall 98-95 at Fisk

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Stillman men's basketball took Fisk to the wire Wednesday night, forcing overtime before coming up just short in a 98-95 decision at Fisk.
Stillman had five players score in double figures and put together one of its most efficient offensive outings of the season, shooting 52.3 percent from the field and knocking down 8-of-14 from three-point range.

Brandon Howard delivered a team-high 28 points, connecting on 11-of-19 from the floor and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Allister Dixon followed with a big inside presence, finishing with 21 points and a game-high 15 rebounds to go with three blocks, giving the Tigers a steady anchor on both ends.
Adrelin Robinson added 20 points and hit a pair of threes, while Jordan Fordyce scored 14 and Joshua Price chipped in 12 as Stillman consistently answered Fisk's runs and stayed within striking distance throughout the night.

The Tigers' execution tightened after halftime, when they poured in 45 points in the second half and continued to attack the paint while also keeping Fisk honest with timely perimeter shots. Stillman also generated extra possessions with work on the glass, finishing with 19 second-chance points.

In the closing moments of regulation, the Tigers continued to push the tempo and find quality looks, ultimately sending the contest to overtime tied at 80. Stillman opened the extra period with free throws from Dixon to grab early momentum, and the Tigers continued to battle possession by possession down the stretch. Fordyce buried a key three late in overtime to keep Stillman within one score, and Howard followed with another triple in the final minute as the Tigers kept the pressure on.

Even after Fisk extended the margin at the free-throw line in the final seconds, Stillman still found a final answer as Robinson drilled a three at the horn, capping a night where the Tigers showed poise, shot-making, and fight against a tough road opponent.

Stillman Men's Basketball will return to Birthright Alumni Hall this Saturday, January 10th, to face Baptist University of Florida at 3:00pm.
