TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Stillman men's basketball jumped out early and never let go, rolling past Baptist University of Florida 82-69 on Monday night behind a balanced scoring effort and a dominant first half.
The Tigers held BUFlorida to 21 points at the break, building a 40-21 advantage while limiting the Eagles to 7-of-33 shooting in the opening 20 minutes. Stillman led for most of the night and pushed the margin as high as 21 early in the second half before Baptist made its push.
Jordan Fordyce led Stillman with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, knocking down three 3-pointers to pace the Tigers' offense. Joshua Price added 13 points and four assists, while Brandon Howard finished with 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Stillman also got strong interior production from Allister Dixon, who posted 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, and Dasean Sellers, who scored 10 points and went 4-for-4 at the free throw line. D'Angelo Foster chipped in eight points, six boards and three blocks.
Baptist outscored Stillman 48-42 in the second half, but the Tigers answered each rally with timely buckets. The Eagles trimmed the deficit to 11 in the final minute, but Fordyce's layup with 10 seconds left sealed the win.
Jordan Isaac led BUFlorida with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Omari Henry and Oliver Pratt scored 15 apiece, with Pratt hitting three 3-pointers.
