Baseball Splits the Day with Tougaloo

TOUGALOO, Miss. – The Stillman College baseball team took to the road for the season's final HBCU Athletic Conference series Friday against the Tougaloo College Bulldogs. The Tigers and Bulldogs split the day with Stillman capturing game one 10-0, while Tougaloo won the second contest 8-2.

GAME ONE - Stillman 10, Tougaloo 0

Griff Minor threw his seventh complete game of the season and only allowed two hits and two walks to keep Tougaloo off the scoreboard.

Four Tigers finished with two RBIs as Davion Wilkins reached the mark on a 2-for-4 effort with a triple. Sieas Elliot smashed a home run for two RBIs on a 1-for-3 effort at the plate. Therick Harris and Samuel Fleming round out the two-RBI crew.

Devin Kelly walked three times and made the most of his time on the base paths with two steals and two runs scored.

After Kelly scored a run in the first and Mehka Hicks scored in the second inning, the Tigers busted scoring wide open with six runs in the sixth before adding one more run in the  seventh to reach the 10-0 final.

GAME TWO - Tougaloo 8, Stillman 2

Michael Moses scored in the top of the second, but the Bulldogs responded with eight runs in the bottom of the second inning to power ahead 8-1.

Kelly scored in the third inning to move the score to 8-2, but the Tigers could not push any more runs across the plate and dropped the second game of the day.

Wilkins led at the plate with a 2-for-3 effort. Minor posted an RBI and a stolen base on 1-for-3 hitting. Hicks finished 1-for-3 with an RBI. Robert Gage drew a walk and stole a base.
