Box Score NEW ORLEANS – The Stillman College baseball team opened the HBCU Athletic Conference series against the Dillard University Bleu Devils with a loss as the Tigers fell 7-1 Saturday night.
Dillard scored a run in the second, two in the fourth, and another run in the sixth, capped by an RBI single from Donovan Shead to go up 4-0.
The Tigers found the scoreboard in the top of the seventh when
Gavin Rehorn singled through the left side to knock in Micheal Moses.
However, Dillard responded with three runs in the bottom of the seventh, highlighted by a two-run homer to left field from Angel Polanco to give Dillard the 7-1 lead which held as the final.
Mehka Hicks and
Devin Kelly both hit doubles for the Tigers, while Moses stole a base in the loss.
John Roland threw six innings in the loss with a pair of strikeouts.
Caleb Vallejo pitched two innings in relief.
Stillman College and Dillard will be playing tomorrow for an HBCUAC doubleheader starting at noon.
