TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The long winning streak has come to an end for the Stillman College women's basketball team as the Lady Tigers fell 62-50 in the semifinals of the HBCU Athletic Conference Hope Credit Union Basketball Championships Saturday afternoon in Birthright Alumni Hall.
The loss snapped a 13-game winning streak for Stillman, who suffered the first loss since a tough one to Wiley University 46-38 back on January 4.

Philander Smith came out hot on both sides of the ball in the opening quarter and held the Lady Tigers to 18.2 percent (2-of-11) from the floor. After a made free throw from
Jamariah Turner, Stillman trailed 16-6 when the first 10 minutes concluded.
The Lady Tigers played better offensively in the second quarter, but PSU matched the team as both squads scored 17 points. Miracle Thomas hit a three to put Philander up by as much as 14 points to make the score 24-10 with 8:13 left. The Tigers battled back to cut the lead to five points with 3:36 on the clock before falling further behind to trail 33-23 at half.
Stillman cut the deficit to as much as three points by the 3:50 mark after a jumper from
Hannah Boykin-Williams moved the score to 43-39. Even though the Lady Tigers won the quarter 20-14, a last-second shot from Jade Myles sent the Lady Panthers to the fourth with a 47–43 lead.
PSU used a quick 8-2 run early in the fourth to push the lead to nine points after Sidney Townsend hit a layup to move the score to 55-46 with 4:30 remaining in the contest. Philadner Smith used stifling defense to win the quarter 15-7 and the game 62-50 to eliminate the top-seeded Lady Tigers.
