TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
Madison Bubel drove a two-out pitch into centerfield for the game-winning RBI in Game 1 of the day to give Stillman College softball a 9-8 victory over Central Baptist College. The Tigers went on to close out the day with a 9-3 win in the nightcap for the non-conference sweep.

Bubel hit 3-for-4 in the first game with two RBI and 4-for-7 with three RBI on the day, while
Carolyn Carter was 5-for-8 to lead Stillman in the twinbill.
GAME 1: STILLMAN 9, CENTRAL BAPTIST 8

Bubel doubled to give Stillman a two-run lead in the fourth, but CBC charged back with a three-run sixth inning to regain the lead, 8-7. Stillman worked the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh. A walk by Stone tied the game and set the stage for Bubel's game-winning hit.

Lumpkin recorded the win in the circle. She allowed three earned runs off six hits in four innings of work.
GAME 2: STILLMAN 10, CENTRAL BAPTIST 3

Bubel delivered an RBI single for Stillman's first run of the second game, followed by a two-run double by
Karli Davidson to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead in the first inning. A Lankford RBI single and an Erwin grand slam in the third inning pushed Stillman's lead to 8-2. Stillman added a run in the fifth on a R Bowman RBI single and scored another in the sixth on an error.

Carter and Davidson each hit 3-for-4 in the game, while Haskins was 2-for-3.

Faith Byram collected the win in the circle, pitching four innings without giving up an earned run. She allowed two unearned runs.
NEXT: Stillman (7-5) will host the U.S. Sports Academy from Daphne, Alabama in a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. Central Baptist and USSA will meet in a single game at 11 a.m. at the Stillman Softball Complex.Â
