BOSSIER CITY, La. – The Stillman College Volleyball team saw the season conclude in the opening round of the 2025 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 defeat to the Dillard University Lady Bleu Devils on Monday afternoon in Billy Montgomery Gymnasium.
Stillman concluded the season with a 6-16 record and a 4-6 mark in conference play, and Dillard moved to 16-8 overall and advanced to the next round of the HBCUAC tournament.
Ava Cameron finished the match with nine kills.
Kelis Conley passed 17 assists and added six kills, five digs and two blocks.
Shelby Morris led the back row with nine digs.
Dillard opened the first set with a 5-0 run, but the Tigers battled back to pull it to 5-4 following an ace from Conley. Both teams traded points until the score reached 12-8, when Dillard took control of the opener and outscored Stillman 13-1 on the way to a 25-9 set victory.
The Tigers controlled the early portion of set two after a kill from Cameron pushed the lead to 10-8. The Lady Bleu Devils responded with a five-point run to take a 13-10 lead. The teams battled back and forth, but Stillman jumped ahead 19-17 following a kill from
Katelyn Lawson. The teams traded the next 11 points until two consecutive points from Dillard tied the set at 24-24. Despite the fierce battle, Dillard scored the final two decisive points to take the set, 29-27.
The Bleu Devils pulled ahead 14-5 in the third set and controlled the action throughout the game. A kill by
Paige Eason marked the final point of the season earned by a Stillman Tiger on the season to move the score to 24-16 before Dillard captured the set 25-17 and the match 3-0.
The Tigers' season concluded, and Dillard moved on to face Philander Smith in the tournament semifinals.
