Stillman Swept by No. 15 Loyola

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Stillman College baseball dropped a three-game set to No. 15 Loyola University over the weekend at Tiger Field. The Tigers fell 10-3 and 13-3 on Saturday before losing Sunday, 15-1.

Geoff Grier led Stillman's offense during the weekend, hitting .500 (4-of-8) through the three games. Samuel Fleming hit .400 (4-of-10) and Kelvin Reese had three hits. Kobe Lewis had two hits. The Tigers had one hit apiece from Cameron Sipp, Troy Davis, Matt Rivers, Michael Glover, Josh Wilson, Devin Kelly, Sieas Elliot and Dylan Speakman.

In Game 1, Stillman attempted to fight back from a 9-0 hole, scoring three runs in the sixth inning. Kelly singled to score Grier for the first run, before Elliot singled in the Tigers' second run. An error on Elliot's hit allowed Lewis to score.

Fleming led Stillman in Game 2, hitting 3-for-4. After allowing four runs in the top of the third inning, Stillman scored three in the bottom of the third, but that was all of its runs. Reese reached on an error and later scored on a wild pitch. Lewis singled in one run and Davis had a sac fly.

In Game 3, Grier hit 2-for-3 and singled in the Tigers' only run in the third inning, scoring Wilson.

Raymon Vaughn, Griff Minor and Dylan Speakman were the Tigers' pitchers of record.

Stillman (9-19, 3-15 SSAC) is scheduled to host Southeastern Baptist for a mid-week non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, March 26, weather permitting, before traveling to William Carey University next weekend in SSAC action.
