Box Score 2 CONYERS, Ga. - Stillman College baseball split a non-conference doubleheader with Paine College on Tuesday, bouncing back from a 10-3 loss to win the second game, 9-3.
GAME 1: PAINE 10, STILLMAN 3
Trailing 4-0, Stillman scored its first run of the day in the top of the third on a Speakman sacrifice fly to drive in Lewis. Paine added six runs in the fifth, but Stilman managed only to score two more runs in the top of the sixth. Flemind delivered a one-out double and scored on
Griff Minor's RBI single. Lewis also delivered an RBI single to drive home Minor.
Isiah Hoskins took the loss, allowing eight runs through 4.1 innings. He struck out two.
GAME 2: STILLMAN 9, PAINE 3
Unlike Game 1, Stillman attacked the Lions early in the second game, taking a 1-0 lead with
Samuel Fleming's RBI single in the first inning. In the second inning,
Michael Glover doubled in the first at bat and later scored on a third strike wild pitch. Speakman drove in the second run for Stillman to take a 3-1 lead.
Dorsett singled in two more runs in the fourth and
Sieas Elliott added a two-run home run in the top of the fifth. Lewis also homered in the fifth inning to expand Stillman's lead to 8-1. Minor added the Tigers' final RBI in the sixth.
Xander Kyzar pitched 4.2 innings, allowing three hits, three runs and four walks. He struck out two.
NEXT: Stillman (5-5) will return to Southern States Athletic Conference action this weekend with a trip to Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia.
