DALTON, Ga. - Proving to be one of the hottest teams in the NAIA, Stillman College raced out to a 23-5 lead over the Dalton State Roadrunners Wednesday night en route to a 72-63 road win in the Southern States Athletic Conference. The Tigers also defeated Dalton State in January. 

Now on a seven-game win streak, Stillman (17-7, 14-3 SSAC) continues to hold onto second place in the SSAC standings ahead of the three opponents it will close the regular season against: Life University (11-6), William Carey (11-5) and Mobile (13-4). 

Four Tigers scored in double figures, led by Antonio Jones' 22 points, seven assists and five rebounds. SSAC Player of the Week Bailey Talley notched a double-double 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Brenden Lankford-Johnson matched his 14 points. Justin Minter had 11 points and six assists. Jamar Jackson added nine points. 

While Dalton State out-rebounded Stillman 36-25, the Tigers shot 49.1% from the floor and held Dalton to 15.4% (2-of-13) from 3-point. Stillman sank eight 3s in the game, led by a Lankford-Johnson's trio. 

Dalton State's Matt Compas hit a jumper early in the second half that cut the Tigers' lead to two points, 33-31, but Talley answered on the other end, and then grabbed a defensive rebound to set up a Lankford-Johnson 3 that pushed Stillman's lead back to seven, 38-31. Midway through the second half, Dalton pulled within four points, but again Stillman answered, scoring a 6-0 run to lead by 10 points. The Tigers led by nine or more points the rest of the night.

Stillman will return home this week to host Life University in Homecoming on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m., following the SSAC Women's Game of the Week at noon. Both games will be broadcast on HBCU+.
