TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Stillman College Tigers cruised to an 83-52 victory over the Southeastern Baptist Chargers, maintaining control throughout the game and showcasing a well-rounded performance on both ends of the floor. The Tigers'; offensive efficiency and defensive discipline were key factors in their dominant 83-52 victory over Southeastern Baptist.
Leading 43-27 at halftime, the Tigers never looked back, dominating the second half with a balanced offensive attack and stifling defense.
With four players in double figures and strong contributions from across the roster, Stillman showcased their depth and talent in a convincing win. Stillman was led by the duo of
Kyin Healey and
Joshua Price. Healey poured in 22 points, while Price contributed 21 points, both playing key roles in the Tigers' offensive success.
Michael Taylor added 17 points, and Calvin Finch Jr. chipped in with 10 points. Finch and Healey each recorded double-doubles, grabbing 10 rebounds apiece to help control the glass and extend possessions.
The Tigers were efficient shooting the ball, finishing the game with a solid 49.1% shooting percentage from the field. They were particularly effective from beyond the arc, hitting 44.4% of their 3-point attempts. The Tigers also showed their proficiency at the free-throw line, converting 81.0% of their attempts.
Defensively, Stillman held Southeastern Baptist to just 39.6% shooting from the field and limited the Chargers to 31.3% from 3-point range.
The Tigers (3-4, 2-0 HBCUAC) will next be in action with HBCUAC action in Huntsville, Ala., at Oakwood University on Thursday at 7 p.m.
