TALLADEGA, Ala. - Stillman College lost a close Southern States Athletic Conference game at Talladega College on Friday, 6-5, and then dropped the night cap, 20-2.
Stillman jumped on top 5-0 in the top of the third inning of Game 1. The Tigers worked the bases loaded before
Griff Minor singled in the
Bilal Whittle for the first run of the game. A
Sieas Elliott made it a 2-0 game, before
Kobe Lewis singled down the left field line to drive in two more runs.
Tre'en Dorsett also delivered an RBI single in the inning.
Dega raced back with two runs in the third, two in the fourth. A wild pitch evened the game in the fifth inning, before the Tornadoes took the lead in the sixth with a double steal.
Devin Kelly, Minor, Lewis and Dorsett each had two hits in the game. Whittle had one.
Steven Oates had the loss, allowing six runs, three earned, off five hits and three walks. He struck out eight.
Stillman fell behind, 9-0, in the bottom of the second inning of Game 2. Minor delivered an RBI single in the third, and
Geoff Grier singled in a run in the fifth for Stillman's only runs in the game.
Raymon Vaughn was charged with the Game 2 loss, allowing eight runs.
Stillman (15-29) will close the regular season Saturday, April 29 at 1 p.m. for the final game of the SSAC series at Talladega College.
