Tigers' Unable to Hold off Dega Rally in Season Finale

TALLADEGA, Ala. - Stillman College led through five and a half innings, but a late surge by Talladega College led to a 16-6 Southern States Athletic Conference loss in the 2023 season finale.
Kobe Lewis and Thomas Stovall each had three hits to lead the Stillman, while Mason Collins, Sieas Elliot and Devin Kelly each had two hits.
Elliot doubled with two outs in the top of the first inning and scored on a Collins double for the first run of the game. Lewis then singled through the right side to score courtesy runner Raymon Vaughn and give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
Talladega scored one in the first and one in the second inning to tie the game. RBI doubles by Collins and Lewis in the third inning gave Stillman  a 4-2 lead, but the Tornadoes also scored two in the inning to tie the game, 4-4.
With one out in the top of the fourth, Stovall singled to left and later scored on a triple by Kelly. Stillman's 5-4 lead held until Talladega tied it in the bottom of the fifth.
Griff Minor pitched five complete innings, allowing five runs, three earned, off 11 hits and two walks.
Stillman worked the bases loaded in the top of the fifth and retook the lead, 6-5 on a Elliot RBI walk. However, Talladega scored six runs off relief pitcher Bobby Woodard in the bottom of the sixth to retake the lead from Stillman, 11-6. Cody Clark took over to pitch out of the inning.
The Tornadoes went on to score two in the seventh and three in the eighth to end the game in eight innings.
